Ducati Corse’s Official MotoE Bike: A Game Changer in the Racing World
Introduced in the 2019 season, the FIM MotoE World Cup, MotoGP’s electric motorcycle races, are gearing up for big changes with the arrival of a new single manufacturer.
Indeed, last October Energica announced that the MotoE adventure would end at the end of the 2022 season and Ducati took the opportunity to announce its arrival from 2023 and to unveil a first sketch of its future electric sports car.
The least we can say is that the reds have been working hard this autumn, as the Italian prototype has already taken to the track during the winter break for tests at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
Named V21L, the prototype is the result of the work of the Ducati Corse racing team and the eMobility department. The brand’s test rider Michele Pirro, who has been in this role since 2013, was the first to test it. It was Michele Pirro who conducted the first dynamic tests at Misano.

Ducati now has a year left to refine its V21L and make it available to all MotoE riders. However, the manufacturer does not hide its real goal, that of relying on the competition to develop an electric Ducati road bike in the near future, which the CEO of Ducati had already announced in 2019.
