Around 1900 Units For The Centenary Of The First BMW Motorcycle

Classic Chrome Paint, Special Parts, PRO Finish, Akrapovic Silencer

2023 is a very special year for BMW Motorrad as it marks the 100th anniversary of the presentation of the very first motorcycle produced by the German manufacturer, the R32, designed in 1923 by Max Friz.

A century later, the Bavarian brand is celebrating its longevity by launching two special editions of models from its Heritage range. In addition to the R nineT roadster (a model designed for the 90th anniversary), it is obviously the big German cruiser that benefits from this attention with the R 18 100 Years.

Generally speaking, the treatment offered to the cruiser powered by the 1,802cc Big Boxer is similar to the one applied to the R nineT. It features a black paint scheme with chrome trim and white piping on the front fender.

The R18 100 Years is also adorned with a stitched seat with a “diamond” pattern and a two-tone burgundy color. The mechanical finishes (engine, transmission housing and rear axle drive) are black. Rather than Option 719 parts, BMW relies on the Chrome Design line to dress up its cruiser with shiny elements: handlebar bar, gear shift and foot brake levers, handlebar ends, mirrors, brake master cylinders, brake calipers, crankcase covers, cylinder head covers and intake manifold linings.

The special edition also inherits the PRO trim which includes Headlight Pro with cornering light, reverse gear, electronic cruise control, heated grips, hill start assist, lockable fuel cap and anti-theft alarm. The package is finished off with a dual Akrapovic exhaust system.

Finally, as always with BMW, it is also possible to complete this equipment with other options such as the passenger pack or new running boards.

Like the R nineT 100 Years, the BMW R18 100 Years will be produced in 1,923 units. Its higher level of finish and exclusivity raise the price to 25,640 euros, 10,050 euros more than the base model of the Bavarian cruiser.
