Some adjustments for the four variants of the adventure bike

Adjusted engine, better padded seat, extended clutch lever, and new color schemes

At the end of October, Triumph Motorcycles announced an evolution for its mid-sized adventure bike range, the Tiger 900, which we have since had the opportunity to test in GT Pro and Rally Pro versions. And as the start of the season approaches, the British manufacturer announces new improvements, this time for its Tiger 1200 family of adventure bikes.

The last major evolution this family underwent dates back to the end of 2021. At that time, the English brand had made improvements to the T-Plane three-cylinder engine, the shaft drive transmission, lightening the chassis, with semi-active suspensions, as well as adding more technologies and different finishes depending on the Rally and GT versions. In three years, no fewer than 14,000 motorcycles have been sold.

For 2024, Triumph continues with its various variants, improving its formula with small touches to the engine, ergonomics and riding comfort, technological package, ground clearance, and, of course, with new colors. The Tiger 1200 range is still offered in four models: GT Pro, GT Explorer, Rally Pro, and Rally Explorer.

The settings of the T-Plane three-cylinder engine have been adjusted in terms of internal inertia to achieve more control at low speeds while retaining the typical character of the English three-cylinder. Triumph claims a quicker and more linear response for an overall better feel, especially with smoother engine braking.

The internal balancing of the engine has also been adjusted to improve ride comfort, with less vibration being transmitted to the motorcycle. The manufacturer has also redesigned both the standard and optional seats for a more comfortable riding position. Additionally, in line with this idea, the clutch lever has been elongated to reduce hand fatigue during riding.

If the functionality was previously reserved for certain variants, the Active Preload feature, which lowers the suspension to facilitate placing feet on the ground, is now integrated into all Tiger 1200 models.

Finally, the two road-oriented maxi-trails, GT Pro and GT Explorer, have their foot controls re-positioned to provide increased ground clearance on lean angles, allowing for higher cornering speeds.

Triumph also enriches the 2024 lineup with new colors, featuring a red livery for the GT and a matte khaki for the Rally. Expected to be available from March at dealerships, the Triumph Tiger 1200 will be sold starting at €21,595 for the GT Pro, €22,995 for the GT Explorer, €22,595 for the Rally Pro, and €23,995 for the Rally Explorer, representing a clear increase of €200 for each model compared to the price of the 2023 model, which was displayed just a few days ago.
