A Mid-Size Bobber In Preparation At The Chinese Manufacturer

If the motorcycle market has a very large choice for young bikers in terms of medium-displacement machines, this is not true for all types of motorcycles. The custom category is not very well represented and is mainly limited to the Honda CMX500 Rebel and the Kawasaki Vulcan S (650). But a new competitor to these two models could soon arrive through Voge.
While the Chinese manufacturer, an international brand owned by Loncin, has been making a name for itself with its roadsters, scramblers, trails (soon to be a 900) and even scooters, cruisers have not been on the agenda until now. Except that a CU 525 has appeared in Chinese approval documents and should be presented later this year.
Visually, the cruiser opts for a typical Bobber style with its stripped back and thick-tired wheels. We can’t help but see inspiration from Harley-Davidson and the Fat Bob, right down to the horizontal headlight and the very straight handlebars.
Technically, the documents indicate that Voge is using its 494cc inline twin-cylinder engine here, which will gradually replace the 471cc engine in the lineup that we’ve seen lately. Rated for 54 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 50.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm, the model claims a top speed of 160 km/h. But like the other 525s, there is a good chance that the twin will be reduced to 35 kW (47.6 hp) for its marketing in specific countries, making it compatible with the A2 license regulations.
Two visuals of the CU 525 have been released with a major difference in the transmission: one has a chain, the other a belt. Everything else remains the same, such as the inverted fork and the two rear shocks, the 1,480 mm wheelbase, the 16″ aluminum wheels, the disc brakes and the 178 kg in running order.
Now, which version Middle East riders will be entitled to, but also when and especially at what price?
